Mongolia-Germany consultative meeting held in Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Consultative meeting on culture and education between Mongolia and Germany was held in Ulaanbaatar on May 17.

G.Ganbayar, Deputy Education Minister and Stefan Buchwald, Director Culture and Media Relations with Africa, Asia, Australia, Pacific and Latin America at Federal Foreign Office highlighted the expanding cooperation between the countries. At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on renewal of the 1997 Agreement on cultural cooperation and reviewed implementation of the current agreement.

The sides exchanged views on the establishment of the French-German Cultural Center in Ulaanbaatar, upcoming events on the occasion of 45th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations and planned joint projects in culture, education and sports.

The parties also shared views on the recognition of Mongolian secondary school certificate by the relevant authority of Germany. Mongolia introduced its secondary education system and the German side agreed to provide needed support. The project on revival of joint scholarship program in 2020 was also handed over to Germany.

In addition to cultural and education cooperation, it was also requested to conduct joint training for the judo, soccer and shooting sports athletes.
