Winners of Asian Championship of Folklore receive awards

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Asian Championship of Folklore - Asia Folk 2019 took place for the first time in Mongolia, awarding best performers on June 16.


Artists of Theatre of Dornod aimag won the Grand Prix of the Asian Championship of Folklore which was held for five days in Ulaanbaatar, followed by artists of South Korea and artists of Inner Mongolia respectively. Moreover, Mongolian band ‘Altai’ won the first place in the category of national arts.    




About 1,500 artists from 21 aimags of Mongolia and over 200 folklore artists from 12 countries, such as Malaysia, China, South Korea, Indonesia, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Russia and Kazakhstan participated in the folklore championship. It was judged by professional judges appointed by World Association of Folklore Festivals and the winners received awards with EUR 1000-4000. 




In the framework of the festival, 'Arts and Culture- The Immunity of the Nations' ceremonial concert, folk arts festival and gala concert of the best participants were performed with crowded audience.
