Sustainability and mobility of smart cities being discussed in Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. An international conference ‘Sustainability and Mobility in the Context of Smart cities’ kicked off in Ulaanbaatar on September 23. The event is being organized by the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, Ministry of Road and Transport Development and Ulaanbaatar City Governor’s Office and organizations from the Germany and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) under the Travelling Conferences grant.
The SuMoCoS conference in Ulaanbaatar is bringing together scientists, researchers, entrepreneurs and representatives from government and private organizations, research institutes and universities from Germany and Mongolia to share and exchange the knowledge and experience on the sustainability and mobility in the context of the Smart City. The conference is also providing an excellent opportunity to initiate collaborations with the partners from Germany
The Sustainability and Mobility in the Context of Smart cities’ project (SuMoCoS) is a travelling conference with project partners in Germany, Uzbekistan and Mongolia. It is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) under the Travelling Conferences grant. The SuMoCoS project aims to strengthen the cooperation between all project partners and to further deepen the understanding of the theoretical and practical challenges of Smart City projects in Central Asia.
With topics of air pollution and renewable energies, water, soil and waste management, smart government, public and private transport, sustainable and green city development and internet of things as its main interests of the project as creating and applying a smart city to reduce environmental pollution and improve mobility, the SuMoCoS conference is focusing on the topics of improved traffic control and environmental pollution.
On the first day of the event with a theme Basic of Smart Cities, experiences and studies made concerning the world’ smart cities were delivered, with scholars discussing the works should be done in Ulaanbaatar city for smart city development.
The four-day event with each day held under different themes, such as Basics of Smart Cities, Use Cases and Industry Solutions, Young Sciences Day, Special Focus Day and field trip will end on September 27.
