Mongolia expresses position at First committee general debate

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. P.Baasankhuu, Deputy Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations, attended the meeting of First committee general debate of the 74th United Nations General Assembly and expressed Mongolian government’s position on the disarmament and international security.


In his speech, P.Baasankhuu affirmed that Mongolia is fulfilling its duty given by ‘Treaty on the Non-proliferation of Nuclear Weapon,’ ‘Chemical Weapons Convention,’ ‘Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty’ and ‘Biological Weapons Convention’ and aims to contribute to the global efforts for disarmament and non-proliferation. He informed Mongolia’s intent to join Nuclear Weapon Test-Ban Treaty in the near future.


Mongolia acts as a coordinator of the Fourth Conference ‘Nuclear weapon-free zones and Mongolia’ to be organized in New York in 2020.
