Photo exhibition of Choijin Lama temple museum opens in Berlin

/MONTSAME/ On November 26, in honor of the 45th anniversary of the
establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Federal Republic
of Germany, Mongolian Foreign Ministry, Institute of History and Ethnography of
the Mongolian Academy of Sciences (MAS), Choijin Lama Temple Museum, and Berlin
State Library (SBB) jointly opened the ‘Mandala – Secret Tantric Temple’ photo exhibition
showcasing historical photographs of the Choijin Lama Temple Museum and organized
the ‘Religious and cultural development during the reign of Bogd Khan’ Mongolian
studies academic conference in Germany to promote Mongolia’s history, traditions,
and religious and cultural development and support cultural relations and
cooperation between the two countries.
Following the opening remarks of D.Ganbat, Ambassador of Mongolia to Germany and Matthias Kaun, Head of the SBB East Asia Department at the academic conference, scholars from the MAS Institute of History and Ethnography, Choijin Lama Temple Museum, and SBB delivered presentations. The conference was attended by the renowned Mongolist Prof. Dr. Udo Barkmann, German students and researchers engaged in Mongolian studies, and German people who has interest in Mongolia came from Berlin, Bonn, Leipzig, and Tübingen.
Around 100
guests including the representatives of the German Federal Foreign Office, Federal
Ministry of Education and Research, and the Humboldt University of Berlin and others
were in attendance at the opening of the photo exhibition taking place until
the end of this year at the SBB’s East
Asian Studies Reading Room.
