‘Opportunities to develop sustainable tourism in Mongolia’ competition held
EnvironmentUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The University of Finance and Economics in partnership with Handong Global University of South Korea organized a business model competition under the topic ‘Opportunities to develop sustainable tourism in Mongolia’ among universities that implement tourism program.
Teams from nine universities and colleges took part in the competition and they competed making study on sustainable development goals, current condition of tourism in Mongolia and international trends and formulating a development model.
Out of them, a team from Ider University won the first place while team from the University of Finance and Economics took the second place and team from the Business Administration and Humanitarian School of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology the third place.
Aside
from competing with teams of the Republic of Korea and China in international
competition, which is being held between January 15 and 17, the selected three
teams will be involved in short-term training to be conducted by international researchers
and professors in directions of business model development and development of social
innovation.
Moreover, during the international competition, ‘International Initiative 2020 Forum for Sustainable Tourism Development’ jointly initiated by the University of Finance and Economics, Handong University of South Korea and UNESCO-UNITWIN will be organized, where leading scholars of different fields are expected to discuss opportunities and solutions for developing sustainable development in Mongolia.
