President puts forward suggestions on bill on pandemic

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Last week, it was reported that a bill on pandemic is being developed in connection with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The Office of President of Mongolia informed that President of Mongolia Kh.Battulga has submitted his suggestions for the bill, which is designed for dealing with social and economic relations amid the pandemic.
The proposals by the President for the bill include:
- To establish a special-purpose fund for Anti-Crisis to promote enterprises and businesses,
- To use revenues gained from properties and assets confiscated by the government for medical equipment procurement and building of hospitals,
- To guarantee social protection for front line public service workers in COVID-19 response,
- To provide them with low-interest housing mortgage, assistance and incentives,
- To strengthen health care delivery system to respond to COVID-19 challenges and put in place social protection measures for them, and
- To ensure that vulnerable groups, including children, elders, people require constant medical attention, pregnant women and people with disabilities, are protected and supported during the COVID-19 response measures and eliminate negative impacts caused by the pandemic on them.
