State Flag Day celebrated with flag-raising ceremony, military parade

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Mongolia celebrates State Flag Day on July 10, every year. On the occasion of this day, ceremony for raising the State Flag of Mongolia took place at the central square. Afterwards, a military parade was held at the square with military officers of the Mongolian Armed Forces, emergency management and policy officers paying tribute to the State Flag.
Due to heightened state of readiness ongoing in the country amid COVID-19 pandemic, reduced number of military formations took part in the ceremony.
In 2008, three Members of Parliament S.Byambatsogt, J.Sukhbaatar and Ts.Dashdorj passed a law on the establishment of State Flag Day. The State Flag Day is being celebrated for 11th time a day before the nationwide Naadam Festival with flag raising ceremony and a military parade. The current flag design of Mongolia was adopted in 1992. Prior to 1992, the flag had a communist star above the Soyombo symbol.
