Acting Mayor of Ulaanbaatar visits newly-opened sports field in Chingeltei District

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On July 18, Acting Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar J.Batbayasgalan, Head of the Governor’s Office of the Capital City Ts.Urtnasan, Governor of Ulaanbaatar's Chingeltei district N.Batsumberel and other corresponding officials became acquainted with the operations of the newly-opened sports fields located on the slope of Chingeltei Mountain. 

 

Alongside having a bike path on top of 6 lanes of 400-meter track, the field is also fully equipped to organize international fire-fighting sports events, with 80 thousand hectares of green area and 2,000 seats.


Acting Governor of the Capital City J.Batbayasgalan said, “International sports events will now become possible to be organized on this field. After quarantine measures are lifted, the complex can serve as sufficient space to organize various sporting competitions as well as performances, creating an environment to develop tourism. The capital city is working to establish similar spaces for the citizens to have more options in spending their free time and promote physical fitness. In the framework of diversifying the economy through tourism and sports, it is essential to promote open air stages and sports fields to our citizens.”


Governor of Chingeltei district N.Batsumberel said, “To ensure the safety and security of the field, we are currently working to install surveillance cameras. The focus will be to create the conditions to have the field be open to the public throughout all seasons and to utilize it for tourism development. Various plans have been set in place such as organizing open air performances and creating hiking trails to the mountain.”
