Guide to art exhibitions opening in Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. In spite of the heightened state of readiness regime extended until October 31 to prevent from the spread of COVID-19, the government has allowed entertainment, cultural and recreational activities to resume starting September 16. Thanks to the decision, many arts galleries have begun gradually launching exhibitions and arts events. Below is the list of art exhibits opening this week in Ulaanbaatar. 

‘King of the Pencil’ painting exhibition by local visual artists, illustrators and painters, including cartoonists S.Tsogtbayar and Do.Bold and P.Tsegmid, realist painter Kh.Bayar and others. 
Exhibition opening: September 18, Friday, Sengeragi Mongolian Art Gallery, Union of Mongolian Artists



Solo exhibition ‘Two Strings’ by realist painter Kh.Bayar  
The exhibition will display watercolor and pencil painting created by artist Bayar in the last two years. 
Opening: September 20, Sunday, Mongolian Theater Museum 



‘Hidden Identity’ solo exhibition by S.Zayasaikhan 
Zayasaikhan is known for his art works, combining Mongolian traditional painting with contemporary Asian visual art. Based in Japan, he has displayed his own exhibition in more than 20 countries around the world. 
Opening: September 26, Saturday, Mongolian National Modern Art Gallery



‘Water and Tree’ photography exhibition 
Organized by Ulaanbaatar Hiking Club, Ministry of Environment and Tourism, Water Agency and United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in Mongolia, the exhibition is featuring nature and environment works by local photographers.
