‘Uchirtai Gurvan Tolgoi’ to open 58th season of Opera and Ballet Theater

and Ballet is to open its 58th season. An opera ‘Uchirtai Gurvan Tolgoi (Three
Dramatic Characters)’ by B. Damdinsuren and a ballet ‘Uiliin Gurvan
Tolgoi (Three Hills of Misfortune)’ by J. Mend-Amar will be the season-openers on
October 3 and 4.
These are the best works that show Mongolian heritage and traditions. In 1950, the theater opened its door with ‘Uchirtai Gurvan Tolgoi’ opera. The ‘Uchirtai Gurvan Tolgoi’ written by prominent Mongolian poet, writer, and playwright D.Natsagdorj's was first played as a drama at the ‘Bumbugur Nogoon’ Theater in 1934, as a musical in 1942, as a melodrama in 1950, and as an opera in 1975. Since then, it is still being played at the season-opening of the theater.
