15 soums of Khovd aimag to be connected by paved roads

L.Khaltar and MP S.Byambatsogt worked in Khovd aimag on October 10-11.
During their visit, the officials informed that the government’s action program
includes plans to build a paved road connecting the aimag’s Tsetseg, Chandmani,
Durgun, Khovd, and Erdeneburen soums and a 163 km road between Uvs and Khovd
aimags. It is also planned to carry out a feasibility study for building a vertical
railroad network in the western region in 2024.
Khovd aimag currently leads the country with its road network that extends 1,300 km. In the coming years, the aimag will get its 15 soums connected to the aimag capital, Ulaanbaatar, and borders by paved roads and have 1,700 km roads.
