Doctors of Mongolia and Taiwan exchange practices for treating cardiovascular diseases

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On October 14, the State Central Second Hospital and the National Taiwan University Hospital jointly organized a video seminar on interventional cardiology procedures. With cardiologists of the State Central Third Hospital also participating in the seminar, the leading medical specialists of Mongolia and Taiwan gathered to exchange information on interventional cardiology research and good practices..


Representative at the Taipei Trade and Economic Representative Office in Ulaanbaatar Grace Lo said, “Due to the pandemic, the exchange program for medical specialists has been temporarily put on hold. Alongside the current state of the pandemic, various illnesses and diseases such as the common cold and flu as well as cancer and cardiovascular diseases continue to threaten public health,” calling for the two sides to continue to cooperate in fighting against the illnesses.


In the framework of the ‘HOPE exchange program’, the National Taiwan University Hospital has officially worked in cooperation with major hospitals in Mongolia since 2009. As of today, over 100 medical specialists and nurses of Mongolia have been involved in training, and over 60 doctors and specialists from Taiwan worked in Mongolia to provide healthcare assistance for cardiovascular diseases.
