Energy Minister meets WB Country Manager

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Energy N.Tavinbekh on
October 29 met with World Bank Country Manager for Mongolia Andrei Mikhnev to
discuss implementation of joint projects. WB Senior Energy Specialists Peter Johansen and
Feng Liu took part in the meeting virtually.
The Bank has been providing major assistance to the energy sector of Mongolia and the Second Energy Sector Project worth USD 54.4 million is under implementation. The sides discussed how to cope with the challenges caused by procurement related delays in the project and agreed to organize an online meeting of relevant officials and WB specialists next week to find common ground on project bidding requirements for prompt project implementation.
At the meeting, Minister N.Tavinbekh undertook to present
the Energy Master Plan to the World Bank next week and Country Manager Andrei
Mikhnev said WB will provide all round support for the implementation of the
principal sector’s master plan.
