Over 300 cyclists take part in 'Bike Day-2020' festival

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. With aims of encouraging cycling and promoting physical activity, 'Bike Day' public festival was held for the fourth year on October 31. Bike parade, mountain bike competition and other types of cycling events were organized on this day.


The event was attended by MP, Vice President of the Mongolian Cycling Federation Ts.Munkhtsetseg, Officer in charge of innovation and technology projects of the Capital City D.Ikhbayar, Head of Ulaanbaatar’s Sports Committee J.Ganbold, President of the Mongolian Cycling Federation P.Gankhuu and amateur and professional cyclists.


During the event, officer in charge of innovation and technology projects of the capital city D.Ikhbayar said that over 300 athletes partook in the three types of cycling events. I am grateful to the cyclists who are promoting the advantages of cycling to the public and raising awareness on the importance of taking care of one’s health. And I am confident that the 'Bike Day' would expand in the future.


President of the Mongolian Cycling Federation P.Gankhuu noted that bicycle sports have been developing in Mongolia in recent years thanks to development of mountain bike paths and bike paths, including the paths connecting Nalaikh area to Ulaanbaatar city. Further, bike paths along auto roads will be built. "As there are many members in the parliament, who train in cycling, I hope that they would work toward creating favorable conditions for the public to commute on a bike."
