Total cases of COVID-19 reach 1667 in Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. According to the National Center for Communicable Diseases, a total of 12,703 people were involved in the PCR testing nationwide since yesterday, resulting in a detection of 11 positive cases of COVID-19 in Ulaanbaatar city today, January 27.

The newly confirmed cases are: five people of a family, who are close contacts of a previously confirmed case, two patients of Central Narcology Hospital, two residents of Sukhbaatar district as well as the two people, who were travelling from the capital city to  Khovd aimag by bus.


The Emergency Commission of Khovd aimag arranged repatriation of its residents, who stuck in Ulaanbaatar and among 205 persons in five buses, two passengers were diagnosed positive, when all the passengers and the drivers were tested with rapid tests at the checkpoint of Darvi soum. The two infected persons, the bus driver and 44 passengers of the bus were isolated in Darvi soum of Khovd aimag yesterday and have been brought back to Ulaanbaatar by plane this afternoon.


Mongolia now has 1667 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 1236 recoveries.
