It is essential for hospitals to have enough PPE in order to
ensure the safety of health workers as well as to have respiratory ventilators
when emergencies arise during COVID-19 pandemic. That is why we are supplying
each hospital with respiratory ventilators and PPE including N95 masks,
surgical masks, goggles, disposable coverall and disposable gloves to the 4
maternity hospitals in Ulaanbaatar and 4 hospitals of the provinces bordering
China and Russia.
The Luxembourg Cooperation granted 345,000 Euro to UNFPA
Mongolia Country Office in order to support the Mongolian Government’s efforts
to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. With this fund, UNFPA has ensured the
continuity of the maternity health services as well as to protect the health
and dignity of women and girls in the past 7 months.
As part of this agreement, UNFPA provided a total of 2,490
dignity kits to women and girls who were in quarantine after being repatriated
from overseas and frontline workers who are at risk of COVID-19. We also
provided dignity kits that meet the special needs to the persons with
disabilities and their caretakers.
