Ulaanbaatar Mayor meets Russian Ambassador

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar D.Sumiyabazar had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Mongolia Azizov Iskander Kubarovich on February 4.
At the beginning of the meeting, Governor D.Sumiyabazar said, “Ulaanbaatar established a sister city relationship with Moscow in 1957. Since then, the capital of Mongolia has become sister cities with over 10 cities including Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, Ulan-Ude, Kazan and has exchanged experiences and carried out numerous activities with them. Relations between the two countries in the areas of education, culture and humanitarian assistance play an important role in the expansion of bilateral cooperation. Therefore, we are willing to cooperate with Russia in education sector. I am confident that the friendly relations between the two countries and partnerships between the cities will further expand”
Ambassador I.K.Azizov underlined the opportunity to organize ‘Moscow Days’ event in Ulaanbaatar during the celebration of the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries on November 5, 2021. The Ambassador also briefed on the Russian made Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine that has 99 percent efficacy.
Moreover, the parties had discussions about a project to establish a Mongolia-Russia university in Ulaanbaatar.
