Chief of Physical Culture and Sports Authority meets with Hungarian Ambassador

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On February 5, Ambassador of Hungary to Mongolia Dr. Borbala Anna Obrusanszky received Chief of Physical Culture and Sports Authority Ts.Sharavjamts, exchanging views on expanding bilateral cooperation in physical education and sports.
Mr.
Ts.Sharavjamts expressed country's willingness to cooperate with Hungarian side further
in sports medicine and research, training professional personnel, organizing
long and short term training for capacity building of students, researchers and
specialists as well as learning from Hungarian experience to upgrade physical education curriculum
of secondary schools.
Hungarian secondary school students have physical
education classes for 5 hours per week. This is an important policy that is supporting citizens’
health through public physical education (PE), Ms. Borbala emphasized. And the parties discussed issues including launching relevant studies from Mongolian side,
increasing PE class hours in curriculum of elementary and secondary schools and
updating curriculum of sports secondary schools.
In addition, they exchanged views on collaborating in promotion and development of Mongolian traditional sports originated from nomadic culture, especially, archery, horseback archery and national wrestling.
Incidentally, the two countries are working to establish Intergovernmental Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Physical Education and Sports fields.
