Virtual event series begin for 100th anniversary of Mongolia-Russia diplomatic relations

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ February 25 saw the opening meeting of the ‘100 Years Together’ virtual friendship event series initiated and hosted by the Mongolia-Russia Friendship Society and the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Ulaanbaatar to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Russian Federation which falls this year and strengthen friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by MP, Head of the Mongolia-Russia Parliamentary Group S.Odontuya, MP, Deputy Head of the group N.Enkh-Amgalan, three other MPs, astronaut J.Gurragchaa, Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky, the committee’s deputy chairman Bair Jamsuev, Member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Sergei Kalashnikov and Director of the Russian Center of Science and Culture Amgalan Bazarkhandaev.
Moreover, Ambassador of Mongolia to Russia D.Davaa and Ambassador of Russia to Mongolia Iksander Azizov delivered remarks during the launching event.
After congratulating each other on the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 40th anniversary of the Mongolia-Soviet space flight, the participants talked on bilateral humanitarian, cultural and economic relations and cooperation. MP N.Enkhbold mentioned that numerous activities are planned for the 100th anniversary and that the treaty between Mongolia and the Russian Federation on Friendly Relations and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership was signed last year.
The event series that has begun with a meeting between the two capitals, Ulaanbaatar and Moscow, will run for 8 months until October 2021 with more online meetings, virtual concerts, roundtables, and public events between Ulaanbaatar and eight Russian cities.
