Parliamentarians agree to lead initiative of supporting the people of India

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Member of the State Great Hural (Parliament) and Chair of Mongolia-India Parliamentary Group at the State Great Hural, Mrs. B.Saranchimeg held a virtual meeting with its parliamentary group members on April 26.
The meeting was focused how to support India as the country grapples with a devastating surge in coronavirus infections nowadays, and at the beginning of the meeting, Chair B.Saranchimeg underlined that India has a long history of friendly relations with Mongolia, and in recent years, bilateral relations and cooperation have been developing successfully in the framework of the Strategic Partnership. With the support of India, which has extensive economic, social, cultural and educational ties with Mongolia, large-scale projects are underway including the country’s first refinery project. In the very first phase, the Government of India first provided Mongolia with a part of AstraZeneca vaccines as a grant aid, stressed B.Saranchimeg.
Members of the Mongolia-India parliamentary group
noted that the initiative to help the people of India in times of need is
taking place among the volunteers as well as at the level of the Parliament and
the Government. Despite the difficult epidemic situation in Mongolia, the
parliamentary group members unanimously agreed to lead this initiative and the
Group Chair B.Saranchimeg said that an organizational issue of providing
countenance to the people of India should be resolved through discussions with
the Government.
