Fully vaccinated citizens to be allowed to freely travel domestically

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The State Emergency Commission convened virtually on April 29.

During the meeting, the commission members received the latest updates regarding the measures being taken against the COVID-19 infection, vaccination rollout, and its procurement and delivery as well as works planned to be conducted in early May.


With about 40 percent of the nationwide target group having been vaccinated so far, a decision was made to intensify vaccination works in 21 aimags of the country from May 10, and urgently involve target group citizens in rural areas in the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Furthermore, citizens living near border checkpoints are projected to be fully vaccinated by May 10. 


The SEC has also decided to allow fully vaccinated citizens to participate in inter-city traffic movement 14 days after receiving their second dose of vaccines, which will be in effect from May 5.


As for measures regarding the resumption of normal operations for international travel and freight as well as the opening of borders, it was decided to have the matter discussed at the Cabinet meeting.
