Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A feature film 'Veins of the World' directed by D.Byambasuren won the Best Picture award at 'Reel 2 Real' festival of Canada. Artists from 35 countries participated in the festival organized virtually April 14-23.
The film, premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in February 2020, was also awarded Grand Prize Fiction and Human Rights and Youth Jury Prize at the International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights (FIFDH) Film Festival in March this year.
Artists of five countries including Germany and Australia collaborated on the film which depicts nomadic life in Mongolia. As the environment is being recklessly destroyed by foreign mining companies, the father of an 11-year-old boy leads the fight against their harmful operations. After the unfortunate death of his father, the boy decides to follow his father’s path, continuing the fight.
