COVID-19: 1,306 new cases detected

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. At the regular press briefing of the Ministry of Health today on May 1, it was reported that 1,306 new cases were detected in Mongolia after testing 13,506 people nationwide within the past 24 hours. About 90 percent of the new cases are close contacts of previously confirmed cases.

 

While there were 3 cases detected in healthcare workers and 1,187 new cases detected in Ulaanbaatar city, the rest were recorded in the cities of Darkhan and Erdenet as well as Khovd, Zavkhan, Arkhangai, Uvurkhangai, Tuv, Selenge, Dornogobi, and Dornod aimags.

 

As of today, the total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in Mongolia now stands at 37,285. In the past 24 hours, 1,039 people have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 20,681.


Furthermore, five new COVID-19 related deaths have been reported, raising the country's death toll to 115. Of the 4,825 patients currently undergoing treatment, there are 2,656 patients in mild, 1,587 in serious, 466 in critical, and 116 in very critical condition.
