Society
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Deputy Prime Minister S.Amarsaikhan got acquainted with a new oxygen generation plant, being established at the National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD). The oxygen plant is expected to put into operation this week.
Oxygen supply center, currently in use at the NCCD, distributes
600 cubic meter oxygen per day and it is carried by high-pressure
balloons. As the new plant is put into operation, conditions will be
created to deliver oxygen directly to reanimation and intensive treatment wards
as well as rooms for COVID-19 treatment by using underground network.
The oxygen consumption has increased four to five times due to the sharp rise of infection. Therefore, with the construction of new plant, not only the NCCD’s oxygen need will be fully met, but it will also be possible to reserve five balloons of oxygen per hour and provide other hospitals with oxygen. This will save MNT 30 million a month and over MNT360 million per annum.
Building of the oxygen plant was constructed by Medi Gas Company as part of its social responsibility.
