Japan to provide JPY 883 million assistance to Mongolia

B.Javkhlan and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to
Mongolia Kobayashi Hiroyuki signed an exchange of notes between the governments
of Mongolia and Japan.
Under the exchange of notes, Japan will provide JPY 883
million assistance to Mongolia and medical equipment for early diagnosis of
diseases, sequencing devices, and vehicles designed for transporting vaccines
will be supplied.
In addition to supplying around 2.35 million doses of
vaccine with the United Nations Children’s Fund as direct assistance to Mongolia, Japan has
contributed USD 200 million to COVAX and pledged additional USD 800 million
funding, supporting global vaccination efforts. The JPY 883 million assistance
from Japan will greatly aid the country’s efforts to speed up vaccination and
respond to the pandemic.
