Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of MONTSAME News Agency, President of Yonhap News Agency Sung-boo Cho extended greetings.
Hello! My name is Sung-boo Cho. I am President and CEO of Yonhap
News Agency, South Korea’s key newswire. First of all, I would like to express
my sincerest congratulation on the centennial anniversary of the foundation of
the MONTSAME News Agency.
As Mongolia’s representative news agency, MONTSAME has been growing as the most reputable and credible media outlet in Mongolia since its birth in 1921.
MONTSAME has certainly performed its important roles both as a
window to deliver its domestic news and information to readers overseas as well
as people in Mongolia.
In particular, MONTSAME has remained active in a variety of
affairs related to the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA), for
which I work as President.
Mrs. Ganchimeg Badamdorj, Director General of MONTSAME, has
visited S. Korea to attend the OANA General Assembly in Seoul in November 2019.
I do hope for MONTSAME’s active engagement and cooperation under the framework
of the OANA in the future.
As key news agencies representing South Korea and Mongolia
respectively, Yonhap and MONTSAME have maintained close exchanges and
cooperation for a long period of time. I do hope both agencies will expand the
existing bilateral cooperative relations into various sectors, further
developing the mutual friendship.
