COVID-19-related hospitalization decreases by 38.3 percent

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Today, November 12, the Ministry of
Health held a press briefing on the COVID-19 situation in the country. According
to the Ministry, 875 СOVID-19 infections and 9 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours. In detail, 563 cases were reported in Ulaanbaatar city,
with 312 cases in 21 provinces.
As of today, the cumulative infection tally in Mongolia increased to 372,387, with the death toll to 1,786.
Currently, 10,727 people are receiving hospital treatment for COVID-19 whilst 28,029 people with mild symptoms are being treated at home. “It means that the number of COVID-19-related hospitalization has decreased by an average of 38.3 percent within two weeks,” said B.Buyantogtokh, Head of the Department for Healthcare Policy and Implementation Coordination at the Ministry of Health, during the press briefing.
“In detail, the number of patients who are in very critical conditions has decreased by 37 percent, patients in critical conditions—by 40 percent, serious patients – by 30 percent as well as mild patients – by 45 percent respectively,” added Mr. Buyantogtokh.
Furthermore, major hospitals will not admit COVID-19 patients from the
15th of this month. During the height of the pandemic, all major hospitals had served
COVID-19 patients. "As the number of cases is now declining, we plan to make the operations of larger hospitals more accessible to basic medical services,"
said Mr. Buyantogtokh.
As of November 12, the coverage of 1st dose reached 69.4 percent (2,256,958), 2nd dose – 65.9 percent (2,143,464) and 3rd dose or a booster shot of COVID-19 vaccines – 15.0 percent (484,980) of the total population.
