Minister of Culture meets French Ambassador

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On March 1, Minister of Culture
Ch.Nomin held a meeting with Ambassador of the French Republic to Mongolia Sébastien
Surun. They mainly discussed cooperation in cinematography in connection with the
Ministry of Culture’s plan to open Mongolian pavilion at the 75th Cannes Film Festival
to be organized in France in May 2022.
The Minister of Culture informed the Ambassador that
Mongolia has adopted a law on cinematography and decided to permit the
issuance of visas in ‘K4’ classification to facilitate travel to Mongolia for
foreign artists arriving in the country for cultural and arts purposes or to
make films and video content, and is collaborating with other countries in film
production. She asked the Ambassador to provide full support to Mongolia’s
participation in the upcoming Cannes festival.
The sides also discussed holding an exhibition about
Chinggis Khaan and the Mongol Empire at a museum of history in Nantes, France in
2023-2024 together with trade and business forums, academic conference, and
arts and cultural events.
The Ambassador of France outlined opportunities for
cooperate in culture and activities planned by the French Embassy, undertaking
to study every cooperation opportunity.
