Views exchanged on environmental projects and programs

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. State Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Tourism E.Battulga held a meeting with Resident Representative of the UN Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) Vinod Ahuja to exchange views on cooperation, projects and programs.

The State Secretary highlighted the importance of bilateral and multilateral cooperation in implementing the ‘One Billion Trees’ nationwide campaign, and expressed his confidence that the projects being co-implemented with the UN FAO would yield results. 

In cooperation with the UN organization, the Ministry has been implementing projects on calculating the amount of greenhouse gasses being produced by the agricultural sector, reducing desertification and land degradation near Zamiin-Uud, promoting dryland sustainable landscapes and biodiversity conservation in the eastern steppe, and ensuring sustainable resilient ecosystem and agricultural management. 

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on expanding cooperation in various areas, such as in supporting livestock health, increasing greenhouse gas absorption, improving livestock productivity, and cultivating rare plants.
