Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. The national workshop on ‘The Draft Integrated National Financing Framework (INFF) Strategy of Mongolia’, has been jointly organized by the Ministry of Finance of Mongolia and the United Nations.

The purpose of the National Workshop is to discuss key insights for the development finance assessment and diagnostics, to discuss the draft integrated national financing strategy, its action plan and monitoring framework where the stakeholders and participants will have the opportunity to share thoughts and inputs, and the way forward towards approval and implementation of the draft strategy.

Multi-stakeholders gathered today, March 18, to discuss the draft strategy that seeks solutions to invest in sustainable development, strengthening the financing architecture and mobilization of resources in line with sustainable development-related objectives.

The Minister for Finance and acting Minister for Economic Development B. Javkhlan and UN Resident Coordinator in Mongolia, Tapan Mishra delivered opening remarks at the workshop.

Given an ambitious SDG-aligned national development agenda by 2030, a significant amount of additional financing will be required. To close this financing gap, it is imperative to increase mobilization of additional financial resources from domestic and international markets, strengthen planning, budgeting, and financing process, and ensure a better alignment of existing financing with SDGs. Especially, private sector financing leveraged through Public-Private Partnership frameworks is vital to bridge the SDG financing gap.
