Development partner meeting organized

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. The National Committee on Gender
Equality organized the Development Partner Meeting on ‘Enhancing technical
cooperation and cross-sectoral coordination towards eliminating gender-based
violence’ which took place on June 27 in Ulaanbaatar, along with the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and UNFPA, Mongolia.
During the meeting, representatives from the government, UN
agencies in Mongolia, diplomatic missions, and international and local NGOs
exchange views on the challenges and opportunities in the implementation of the
Mongolian Law on Combating Domestic Violence to enhance technical cooperation
and cross-sectoral coordination toward eliminating gender-based violence.

N.Ankhbayar and UN Resident Coordinator Tapan Mishra delivered opening remarks
emphasizing past achievements in preventing and combatting gender-based
violence in Mongolia.
Head of Office of UNFPA Mongolia Dr. Khalid Sharifi provided
an update on the implementation of the law on Combatting Domestic Violence and
contributions of UNFPA’s next Country Programme for 2023-2027.
