Cooperation with ICJ Discussed

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Netherlands L. Bold held a familiarization meeting with the President of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), Judge Joan E. Donoghue in The Hague on December 7, 2022.


At the meeting, they discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation, such as strengthening the human resources of Mongolia and learning experience in the field of public international law, training the Mongolian young lawyers at the World Court, and co-organizing events to deepen the understanding of the role and functioning of the ICJ.


The ICJ is the principal judicial body of the United Nations. The role of the ICJ is to settle, by international law, legal disputes submitted to it by States, and to give advisory opinions on legal questions referred to it by authorized United Nations organs and specialized agencies.


The Registrar of the International Court of Justice, Mr. Philippe Gautier, was present at this meeting.
