President Khurelsukh Works in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region of the PRC

Ningxia, October 20, 2023 /MONTSAME/. Today, the President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa visited Kaisheng Haofeng (Yinchuan) Smart Agriculture Industrial Park in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, the People's Republic of China (PRC).
With an investment of about CNY 155 million, the park's 5,000-square-meter smart greenhouse mainly grows "Momotaro" tomato seedlings, producing an annual harvest of 4,000 tons and generating revenue of over CNY 100 million.
President Khurelsukh then visited the Shapotou Nature Reserve near Zhongwei City to get acquainted with management practices for preventing desertification and developing tourism. For over 60 years, the City has planted trees, developed agriculture, renewable energy, and desert tourism, and has reforested 100,000 hectares of desert.
The Shapotou Nature Reserve's "Grass Net" method won the National Science and Technology Progress Special Award and the United Nations Environment Program's Global 500 Award for environmental protection. This method comprehensively solves the problem of sand fixation, fire prevention, and irrigation by using wheat straw in the form of grass nets to establish afforestation belts.
The Shapotou Nature Reserve receives about 15 million tourists annually and generates revenue of CNY 10 billion.
