Mongolia Wins Six Medals at the 4th Asian Para Games

4th Asian Paralympic Games took place in Hangzhou, the People’s Republic of
China, on October 22-28, 2023, bringing together more than three thousand
athletes across 22 sports.
On October
24, 2023, Honored Athlete of Mongolia Bolor-Erdene Ganbat won a gold medal in
the taekwondo competition in the men’s 63 kg category at the Asian Games. By
defeating the Iranian opponent with a score of 6:2 in the final round, G.
Bolor-Erdene became the first Mongolian taekwondo athlete to win a gold medal
at the Asian Paralympic Games.

Bolor-Erdene, a five-time gold medalist at the Asian Paralympic Championships,
and D. Ganbat, a bronze medalist at the 2006 Final FESPIC Games, a silver
medalist at the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Para Games, a bronze medalist at the 2014
Incheon Asian Para Games, and a gold medalist at the 2023 4th Asian Para Judo
Games, are two of Mongolia's most decorated Paralympic athletes.
On October
25, 2023, Ganbat Dashtseren defeated his Kazakh rival Yerlan Utepov in the
men's +90 kg judo category, winning Mongolia's second gold medal at the Asian
Paralympic Games. D. Ganbat became the first Mongolian athlete to win a
complete set of medals - gold, silver, and bronze - at the Games. He is also the
20th Mongolian judo medalist at the Asian Paralympic Games and the only
Mongolian athlete to compete in the Games the most times.
At the 4th
Asian Paralympic Games, Mongolia won six medals, including two gold, one
silver, and three bronze medals, placing 17th out of 44 countries.
