Deputy Foreign Minister Amartuvshin Participates in the Third South Summit

Ulaanbaatar, January 23, 2024 /MONTSAME/ The Third South Summit, the main decision-making mechanism of the Group of 77 is taking place in Kampala, Uganda, on January 21-23, 2024.


Under the theme “Leaving no one behind”, the Third South Summit discusses a wide range of issues including developing countries’ partnership, cooperation, trade, investment, sustainable development, climate change, poverty reduction, countries with special needs, e-economy, and migration.


High-level representatives of more than 130 countries and international organizations, including the Presidents of Uganda, Botswana, Equatorial Guinea, and Sri Lanka, the Vice Presidents of Cuba, Benin, and the Maldives, the Prime Ministers and Foreign Ministers of Algeria, Guyana, Rwanda, Eswatini, South Africa, the Philippines, Singapore, and Brazil and the Secretary-General of the United Nations are taking part in the Summit to express their positions on the activities implemented under South-South cooperation and strengthening the partnership of developing countries.


Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Amartuvshin Gombosuren is participating in the Third South Summit. At the meeting on January 22, the Deputy Minister presented the policies, activities, and initiatives implemented by the Government of Mongolia.


As a result of the Third South Summit, the representatives will issue a final document as a roadmap for developing international partnerships and cooperation, strengthening unity, and supporting the development of developing countries. Since 1989, Mongolia has been actively participating in the activities of the Group of 77, which aims to protect the common interests of developing countries.
