Ambassadors Express Support to English Language Education in Mongolia
SocietyUlaanbaatar, 2024 March 6/MONTSAME/ Within the frame of the “Public English learning support program” that was adopted by the resolution of the Government of Mongolia, a meeting aimed at improving English language education in Mongolia was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Mongolia jointly with the Embassy of the United States of America in Mongolia.
During
the meeting, Minister of Education and Science Enkhamgalan Luvsantseren
introduced six major reforms that happening in the education sector, which
include curriculum reform, school and teachers’ evaluation, teachers’ skill and
outcome-based financing, school management, and digital transition. The Minister
also presented the ongoing English language “Pearson” program and Mathematics
“Eduten” program which supposedly bring the general education of Mongolia to the
international level, and help prepare Mongolian citizens competent in the world
as well as the plans and goals.
Ambassadors
from the USA, Great Britain, Canada, Australia, India, and
France participated in the meeting. Additionally, the Ambassadors of States
with English language education programs such as the Czech Republic, Poland,
Republic of Korea, and the Heads of international organizations such as Peace
Corp, UNDP, and Save the Children Fund were present at the meeting.
The international guests expressed their appreciation to the Ministry of Education, Science of Mongolia for its effort to enhance the English language knowledge, and improve public education through know-how searching and starting the work of introducing the standards of the international education institutions. Moreover, they expressed their readiness to collaborate in increasing the number of English language teachers, improving their skills, and implementing teacher and student exchange programs.
