Ministry of Education and Science of Mongolia to Collaborate with Tokyo’s Shinagawa City

Ulaanbaatar, May 16, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The Ministry of Education and Science of Mongolia, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and the Shinagawa City of Tokyo, Japan, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on May 10, 2024.
The Memorandum was signed by State Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Science of Mongolia Kh. Batjargal, the Mayor of Shinagawa City Kyoko Morisawa, and Head of the JICA's Representative Office in Mongolia Tanaka Shinichi.
At the Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum, State Secretary Batjargal expressed gratitude for the start of multilateral cooperation in the areas reflected in the medium-term and long-term development policy of Mongolia, as well as for supporting Mongolian students in internships at enterprises in the Shinagawa City and helping them to start a business. He mentioned the plan to implement a project to create “KOSEN” centers in the local areas of Mongolia and expressed confidence that cooperation would expand and develop.
The Memorandum provides for the exchange of human resources, support for human development, technological cooperation between enterprises and educational institutions of Mongolia and the Shinagawa district, joint research, the creation of startups, and other types of business, as well as international cooperation.
Since 2017, more than 20 graduates of the KOSEN Technological College have been working in the Shinagawa district as part of cooperation in the industrial sector.
The Japan International Cooperation Agency continues to foster students of the KOSEN Technological College and Universities of Mongolia under the “Higher Engineering Education Development” Project known as “1000 Engineers” and “DX Business Contest /DXCUP2024/”.
In addition, as part of the “1000 Engineers” Project, the Rector of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology D. Badarch met with representatives of companies located in the Gotanda Valley, where Mongolian graduates of the KOSEN Technological College work within the framework of the Project.
