U.S. Secretary of State Pays a Courtesy Call on Prime Minister of Mongolia Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai

Ulaanbaatar, August 1, 2024 /MONTSAME/. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who is on an Official Visit to Mongolia at the invitation of  Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister of Mongolia Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai.

At the meeting, the two parties expressed their satisfaction with the active development of bilateral relations and commitments to further strengthening the Strategic Third Neighbor Partnership by consolidating and expanding political, economic, defense, people-to-people, education, cultural, and humanitarian relations.

Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene expressed satisfaction with the first tangible outcomes of the agreements reached during his Official Visit to the United States in August 2023, particularly regarding the launch of direct flight between the two countries and the development of English language skills of Mongolian teachers, as English is the primary foreign language as reflected in the General Education Law on Digital Development and Education.

The two sides agreed to continue developing joint projects and programs under the U.S. Mineral Security Partnership initiative, and to advance the cooperation in space exploration, renewable, and clean energy sectors to achieve tangible results.

On August 1, 2024, a Mini-Naadam Festival was organized at the Ikh Tenger Complex in honor of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken's Official Visit.
