Ulaanbaatar, October 9, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The realistic pencil drawings by Bujuulen Berkheedei that were on display at her first solo exhibition truly left visitors stunned. Skillful use of shading and fine details make the images so realistic that people cannot believe they are not photographs.

The exhibition “King of Pencil 2024” was jointly organized by the National Art Gallery of Mongolia and the Evleg Ergonomics on October 2-9, 2024 at the National Art Gallery. Mostly portraits and animals, the best realistic pencil drawings of Bujuulen were displayed at the exhibition.  “I try to create extremely realistic drawings. Therefore, I strive so that pencil strokes are disappeared. Pencil drawing is my hobby. I love to draw in the evening after my work,” said artist Bujuulen, who came home country from Japan for her exhibition.  Though Ms. Bujuulen started pencil drawing at a young age, she has never taken professional drawing lessons and chose a profession in tailoring.

”The King of Pencils”, a Facebook-based community inspired her to draw more and led to the solo exhibition. The community encourages everyone who loves pencil drawing, by posting their works on the page and sharing experiences and thoughts. In the past, the community hosted “The King of Pencil” joint exhibitions twice.
