New Tourist Information Center Opens at Central Square

Ulaanbaatar, October 15, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The
Ulaanbaatar City Tourism Department has opened a new Tourist Information Center
at Sukhbaatar Square, the central point of the capital.
The four-season facility's design was created in cooperation
with "Ord Ger" LLC, with a modern solution of spherical shape and a
prefabricated wooden frame, low heat loss, and energy-saving portable structure,
reflecting the national features.
The first Tourist Information Center was launched in 2013. Today, there are seven centers, of which, three provide year-round service, three are active seasonally, and one operates in Germany. The Centers focus on delivering quality and
prompt services as the number of tourists is increasing every year, noted the
Ulaanbaatar City Tourism Department.
The Tourist Information Centers provide visitors with information
on travel routes around the city, places to visit, top sights in the capital
city, one-day city tours, public transportation routes from the airport to the
city, intercity public transportation routes, currency exchange offices,
attractions, service facilities, and shopping centers. Tourists can get
information related to locations, the working hours, as well as information on airports,
the international, and domestic flights.
Moreover, instructions on how to get a refund after
purchasing duty-free goods, the list of goods, and information on the location,
price information, phone numbers, working hours of hotels, inns, guest houses, tourist
camps, and resorts, as well as information on places where mobile phone SIMs
and data can be obtained, taxi services, medical institutions, emergency services
contacts, and applications are available at the centers.
In addition, for domestic citizens, information on the
location of government service centers, instructions for using E-Mongolia, a
list of information reference hotlines, and information on renewing operation
permits are provided.
In Ulaanbaatar city, Tourist Information Centers provided
service to more than 15,000 people in 2022, about 17,000 in 2023, and 16180 visitors
by the third quarter of 2024.
