Hero of Labor of Mongolia Surenjav Ulambayar Receives Kukkiwon Award

Ulaanbaatar, October 16, 2024 /MONTSAME/. Hero of Labor of Mongolia Surenjav Ulambayar, who won the Summer Paralympic Games in Paris, France, has been honored with the most prestigious award from the World Taekwon-Do Headquarters.


Specifically, Surenjav Ulambayar was presented with the Kukkiwon Award by the World Taekwondo Headquarters. In addition, L. Tsenguunjav, Vice President of the Mongolian Taekwondo Federation, was also recognized with the same award for his contributions to the development of the sport.


During the award ceremony, President of the World Taekwondo Headquarters, Grandmaster Lee Dong-sup, said, “Taekwondo is practiced by 300 million people worldwide. I would like to express congratulations to Mongolia for winning the Paralympic gold medal in this sport. We highly appreciate your contributions to the development of Taekwondo, and we are honored to present you with this prestigious award.”


Founded in 1972, the World Taekwondo Headquarters is based in Seoul and serves as the highest governing body that certifies taekwondo ranks and dan grades.
