Mongolian Athletes Secure 13 Medals at Mas-Wrestling World Championship 2024
SportsUlaanbaatar, December 4, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The World Mas-Wrestling Championship for youth, adult, and open weight divisions, concluded in Bishkek, the capital city of Kyrgyzstan, on December 2, 2024.
The World Mas-Wrestling Championship, organized for the sixth consecutive year, brought together 265 athletes from 39 countries, competing across 23 weight classes. The athletes representing Mongolia performed admirably, earning one gold, three silver, and nine bronze medals before returning to their homeland on December 3, 2024. In the youth division, Narantogtokh Uyanga claimed gold in the boys’ 80 kg class, making the National Anthem of Mongolia resonate on the stages of Bishkek. The youth team, with a total of one gold, two silver, and two bronze medals, ranked third overall and was awarded the bronze trophy. Meanwhile, the adult division athletes added one silver and seven bronze medals to Mongolia’s accomplishments. International Referee Telmen Sainbayar served as the referee secretary, while referee Daariimaa Bumbat officiated the Championship and received an “A” grade certification.
Furthermore, the International Mas-Wrestling Federation officially announced that Mongolia has been granted the right to host the 2025 World Mas-Wrestling Championship.
