Ulaanbaatar, December 6, 2024 /MONTSAME/. A Mongolian Culture Center has opened at the University of Parma, Italy.  The Action Program of the Government of Mongolia for 2020-2024 reflects a goal to establish Mongolian Culture Centers to promote the Mongolian language and culture worldwide, based on universities and research institutions, and the center was opened in line with its realization. A Mongolian Culture Center also opened at the University of Florence, Italy, on April 19, 2024.

The establishment of a Mongolian Culture Center at the University of Parma, which was founded in 1412, will play a crucial role in promoting the Mongolian language and cultural heritage internationally, developing Mongolian studies, and strengthening cultural exchanges between Mongolia and Italy. The center will also contribute to expanding research institutions’ activities in the field of Mongolian studies, improving the quality of research work, and training specialists.

The opening ceremony of the Mongolian Culture Center at the University of Parma was attended by the Ambassador of Mongolia to Italy and the Deputy Mayor of Parma as well as academics, teachers, and Mongolian and Italian students.

The Mongolian Culture Centers will give an important impetus for the successful implementation of the agreement on cooperation in the culture sector signed between the Governments of Mongolia and Italy and for the further expansion of relations and cooperation in the field of culture between the two countries.
