Ulaanbaatar, January 2, 2025 /MONTSAME/. During the regular session of the Cabinet of Mongolia on January 2, 2025, Minister of Mongolia and Head of the 20-Minute City National Committee Erdeneburen Ravjikh presented an update on the progress of the Tuul Highway Project of Ulaanbaatar City.

The Highway is planned to cover a total distance of 32 km, starting from the four-lane Nalaikh Highway, or Bayanzurkh Bridge, and continuing to the Safety Circle in Songinokhairkhan district that diverges to the roads leading to the western aimags. The route will feature limited access points, will not intersect with city roads at the same level, and will not disrupt traffic flow. The intended travel speed will be 80-100 km/h, and it will provide a bypass route around Ulaanbaatar city, thereby contributing to the expansion of the Asian highway network.

A tender for the construction and installation work of the Tuul Highway is projected to be announced in January 2025, with construction set to begin in March 2025.
