Ten Mongolian Judokas Ready to Vie in Paris Grand Slam 2025
SocietyUlaanbaatar, January 3, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The International Judo Federation's new season will kick off with the African Open in Casablanca, Morocco, on January 18-19, 2025.
The "Grand Slam" series will begin on February 1, 2025, with the first event taking place in Paris, France. Ranking just below the Olympics, World Championships, Tokyo Grand Slam, and Masters tournaments, the Paris Grand Slam 2025 marks the first Grand Slam of this year. So far, over 150 judokas from 21 countries have registered to compete.
From Mongolia, a team of ten judokas—five men and five women—will participate. In the men's division:
- Yolk Kazirbyek and Sukhbat Byambasuren in the -60 kg category,
- Badamragchaa Nyamrenchin and Kherlen Ganbold in the -66 kg category,
- Shinebayar Oyunchimeg in the -81 kg category.
In the women's division:
- Anudari Jamsran in the -48 kg category,
- Uranzaya Bayanmunkh and Gundegmaa Boldbaatar in the -52 kg category,
- Oyunchimeg Oyungerel in the -57 kg category,
- Lkhagvadulam Sarantsetseg in the -70 kg category.
The Mongolian team is scheduled to depart for Paris on January 28, 2025.
In 2025, the International Judo Federation will organize 10 Grand Slams and three Grand Prix tournaments. One of these, the Ulaanbaatar Grand Slam, will be held in Mongolia on July 25. Additionally, the World Championships are set for June 13, 2025, in Budapest, Hungary, while the Asian Championships will commence on April 24 in Bangkok, Thailand.
