Draft Law on Supporting Families Discussed

Ulaanbaatar, April 17, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Protection of Mongolia is currently drafting the Law on Supporting Families. The draft Law is being prepared to be submitted to the State Great Khural (Parliament) of Mongolia.
In this regard, the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Protection of Mongolia is conducting phased consultations involving a wide range of public representatives. Proposals from scholars, researchers, government officials, and non-governmental organizations are being incorporated into the draft Law. Most recently, the Ministry held a meeting with faculty members and researchers of the Population Studies Program at the National University of Mongolia, who emphasized the importance of demographic factors and expressed support for policies that strengthen family well-being.
The purpose of the draft Law is to create a legal framework that supports families by ensuring work-life balance, delivering comprehensive social services to each family member, and promoting stability and well-being within families.
According to the Ministry, the Law on Supporting Families is expected to support family stability, in particular, improve the quality of life for families with young children and multiple children, ensure sustainable population growth in Mongolia, and foster a family-friendly environment.
