The Immigration Agency of Mongolia and the Migration Department of Lithuania to Cooperate in Research

Ulaanbaatar, April 25, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Immigration Agency of Mongolia and the Migration Department of the Republic of Lithuania agreed to establish a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Exchanging Experiences and Collaborating in Research and Analysis.
Head of the Immigration Agency of Mongolia Uuganbayar Nergui held an online meeting with the authorities of the Migration Department of the Republic of Lithuania, the Delegation of the European Union, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Korea. At the meeting, the participants exchanged views on developing cooperation between the immigration services of the two countries. The Head of the Immigration Agency of Mongolia presented the requirements for foreign citizens to travel to Mongolia and the electronic services provided to foreigners.
The Immigration Agency of Mongolia focused on digitalizing its activities in 2021-2024. As a result, the visa and permit services provided to foreign citizens were digitalized in 2024, with more than 650 thousand citizens served electronically. Head of the Immigration Agency Uuganbayar emphasized that the Immigration Agency prioritizes information security and software development and carries out measures in phases to further develop electronic services and improve the registration and control system based on technological advancements.
Participants of the meeting commended the results of the digitalization of the Immigration Agency of Mongolia and expressed gratitude for cooperation.
