Mongolian Junior Boxers Win Three Medals at the Asian Boxing Championships

Ulaanbaatar, May 1, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Asian Boxing Championships for “U15” and “U17” age categories in amateur boxing were held in Amman, Jordan, on April 19-30, 2025. 


A total of 405 athletes, 250 boys and 155 girls, from 18 countries competed in the Championship. Seven athletes from Mongolia competed under the guidance of coaches R. Jolaman and J. Bat-Otgon. In the “U17” girls’ 46 kg category, A. Altazul won the silver medal, in the “U17” boys’ 75 kg category, T. Davaajav secured the bronze medal, and in the “U15” boys’ 40 kg category, N. Akhmetkhan also earned the bronze medal.


Furthermore, International Master of Sports and three-star Referee of the International Boxing Association (IBA) B. Atarbayar served on the panel of referees at the Championship and was nominated as the “Best Referee.”
