Mongolian Team Captures Seven Medals at the XXV Asian Physics Olympiad

Ulaanbaatar, May 12, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Mongolian team earned a total of seven medals at the 25th Asian Physics Olympiad held in Dhahran, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on May 4-12, 2025. 


At the 2025 Asian Physics Olympiad, over 240 students, 100 teachers, and coaches from 30 Asian countries competed. The Mongolian Team, composed of eight students, claimed one silver, six bronze, and an honorary mention, marking a historic achievement as Mongolia secured its first silver medal from the Olympiad. 


The Team was led by Dr. G. Munkhbayar, Associate Professor at the National University of Mongolia, and Dr. G. Zorigt, Associate Professor at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology, while coaches included M. Ganbat, Chairman of the Committee on the National Physics Olympiad, and M. Otgonbaatar, Lecturer at the National University of Mongolia. 


The Award Ceremony will take place on May 13, 2025. 

Last year, Mongolia won two bronze medals and two honorable mentions. Next year, the "APhO-2026" will be held in Busan, the Republic of Korea.
